Linking mountains to sea, our vision for the Golden Inner Bay!
We’re proud to be one of the six chosen consulting teams for the conceptual planning and design of the Golden Inner Bay.
The challenge is to optimise the spatial framework, drive industrial transformation and foster ecological civilisation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, ultimately achieving sustainable and high-quality development.
We are collaborating with an international and multidisciplinary team, led by SCUT (the Architectural Design and Research Institution of South China University of Technology) and supported by Prof. Steffen Nijhuis from Delft University of Technology. As ecological and water experts, our work emphasises the node design scale, proposing inspiring visions for ecology, biodiversity, water safety, climate adaptation, and urban design strategies, all while addressing social and economic development demands.
“For Golden Inner Bay at the confluence of the Pearl River and the estuary, we can make the next step in development via landscape based urbanism while linking mountains to sea.”
Martin Knuijt, Partner
“The Pearl River Delta has long been regarded as one of the fastest urbanising deltas in the world, presenting both opportunities and challenges. We are therefore delighted to be part of this dynamic project, which is brimming with potential.”
