A winning design for Paseo de Sarasate in Pamplona
Our design proposal, Isolíneas, created in collaboration with OAB Office of Architecture in Barcelona and Vi17 Arquitectura, has been selected as the winner of the international competition to transform Pamplona’s historic promenade. Chosen from five finalist teams, this project represents an exciting milestone for us and an opportunity to redefine how public spaces connect people, culture, and nature.
The jury commended Isolíneas for its comprehensive approach, highlighting how the proposal balances the social, heritage, and environmental dimensions of Paseo de Sarasate.
Connecting Pamplona through smart design
Paseo de Sarasate is a vital link in Pamplona’s cityscape, and our goal is to preserve its character while making it greener, more accessible, and welcoming for all. Isolíneas introduces a seamless, accessible design with diagonal pathways that connect the north and south sides of the promenade.
We’re maintaining 97% of the existing trees, reimagining seating areas with natural materials, and adding vibrant green zones to encourage relaxation and interaction. The inclusion of thoughtful features, like a mist fountain and subtle lighting, ensures this space is as functional as it is beautiful.
“We are thrilled to advance OKRA’s first project in Spain, combining our expertise in water management and landscape design with local heritage and identity. Paseo de Sarasate in Pamplona offers a unique opportunity to create healthier, more natural urban spaces.”
