OKRA presents design for new Singelpark in Oldenzaal

OKRA has made a design for the new Singelpark to be constructed around the city centre of Oldenzaal, the Netherlands. The Singelpark comprises an area of 6.2 hectares of public space and is located on the former city wall and city canals. The Municipality of Oldenzaal has long desired to make this cultural heritage of the old Hanseatic city visible and tangible again, and also to make the city centre climate-adaptive. The design for the new green Singelpark was presented to the municipality yesterday. In the design of OKRA, the old city walls become visible again. Water storage is central to the new park so that the city centre is well equipped to cope with the effects of climate change. The design principles for the park were jointly established with the residents of Oldenzaal.
