After the successful execution of the redevelopment of the historic town centre of Hattem to a design by OKRA landscape architects from 2014, OKRA will continue with the redevelopment of the public space of the smallest Hanseatic city in the Netherlands.
Previously OKRA made a design with great care and attention for the redevelopment of the town centre of Hattem, the church square and the surrounding space, the Markt and the Kerkhofstraat. The combination of new techniques for drainage and irrigation of the planting and the careful design makes the church square the symbol of Hattem’s rich past for years to come. The next phase of the redevelopment of the town centre has a technical motive, more climate adaptation and sustainable lighting. Also, it is an opportunity for the municipality to strengthen the spatial quality of the historic town and make it an even more attractive public space for residents, entrepreneurs and tourists.
