Paul Kersten MSc

urban designer

Paul (1990) is an urban designer at OKRA where he uses his inquisitive nature to develop innovative urban design solutions. His analytical skills and constructive attitude makes Paul strong in strategy and monitoring the design process. Here he is particularly interested in the link between research and design and the role of design at different scales.

Paul graduated, in 2015, from the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e) with a Masters in Architecture, Building and Planning. In 2016, he joined the OKRA team. Paul also spends his time teaching and has been doing research for the Architectural Urban Design and Engineering Department at TU/e. Previously, he worked as a freelance designer with a development strategy for the Wilhelmina Canal in Tilburg.

His final project was a design study for an area development strategy for the island of Texel (NL) to be self-sufficient in energy and water, taking into account local values.
