Melle van Dijk is a landscape designer and project manager with over ten years experience in leading public and private projects of all scales in Europe and Asia, from competition to construction, with a strong focus on design for climate adaptation and active mobility. He always aims to combine thorough research and understanding of the site with strong concepts, a clear design language and consistent detailing. Melle is passionate about finding solutions that not only answer the primary questions but also have a positive impact on a community, environment or ecosystem.
Before joining OKRA in 2018, Melle worked as an associate and project manager at Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl in Singapore on projects such as the design of the 67 ha Rifle Range Nature Park, Jurong Lake Gardens West – Singapore’s third National Garden – as well as various green-blue infrastructure projects with a strong focus on climate adaptation. In the Netherlands, Melle has worked on projects ranging from detailed objects to regional visions after graduating from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences. His experience includes a large number of implemented public space designs within the context of historical city and town centres.
