Emmelie van Ommen has been working at OKRA since 2021. She studied garden and landscape design at the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and landscape architecture at Wageningen University. She specialises in water issues, climate change, sustainability, nature development and complex design issues. These subjects activate her to contribute to a sustainable and valuable environment for people and nature. The alternation between large-scale designs and local effects really appeals to her.
During her studies, Emmelie did internships at H+N+S and at Buro Sant en Co, where she developed a keen eye for design details. For her master’s thesis, she studied the coastline of Schouwen-Duiveland in Zeeland and developed principles for integrating landscape qualities with adaptation to sea-level rise. With her broad background, Emmelie can design creative and ambitious concepts in detail.
