Work in the coastal town, Cadzand-Bad has begun

The integrated coastal reinforcement project, the construction of the marina and the improvement of public space will be realised within eighteen months. The contractor Combination Cadzand-Bad will implement the project and OKRA works on quality control for the client to ensure that a high quality public space is realised.

Cadzand-Bad is one of the five sections of the weak links identified in West Zeeland Flanders.

The weak links were identified along the coast as the points that were not strong enough to withstand a super storm that may occur once every 4000 years. The necessary coastal reinforcement provides an opportunity to develop a larger area, of around a kilometre, at the same time. Creating a necessary boost for the coastal town. The stretch of coast will once again meet safety standards by the 31st December 2015.
