The Netherlands is this year’s guest of honour at the Shenzhen Design Week. The theme is Water as Leverage for Sustainable Development, a subject in which Dutch design and engineering firms are leading for years. The aim of a series of presentations is to make use of Dutch expertise to create a beautiful Chinese model of harmonious co-existence of man and nature. Consultation with Dutch experts, including OKRA landschapsarchitecten, will help Shenzhen to prepare a climate-resilient strategy for continuing urban development effectively.
Following our successful Katwijk Coastal Zone project, OKRA and MLA+ have successfully developed a design framework for mountain, sea, and land development for the coastal area of Shenshan Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen Municipality in China.
Rani Izhar, an associate at OKRA, will share our insights on adaptive urban design for water resilient cities during a webinar on August 26 from 8:00 till 10:00 AM (CEST). There are also presentations from distinctive Dutch design agencies such as KCAP, MLA+, One Architects and many others.
