On February 16, 2016 the City Council of Heusden adopted the draft Town Plan Vlijmen. For the past six months OKRA has been in consultation with the municipality, shopkeepers, residents and stakeholders about the design. The Essence of the town plan Vlijmen is attractiveness and accessibility. With this plan the centre of Vlijmen will have once again a vibrant centre with a healthy mix of uses; retail and housing, a fresh market, diversified hospitality with good terraces and a flexible use Square for weekly markets, fairs and carnivals. It is expected to start the demolition / construction of the eastern side of the square will begin in the second half of 2016. Subsequently, the Plaza, the connection to the Van Greunsvenpark and the new connection of the Akkerstraat will be constructed.
