Xie Guangyuan


Guangyuan Xie obtained a bachelor ‘s degree in Urban Planning at the South China University of Technology. He has worked in Sun Yimin Studio (China) as an urban designer for two years. Then he came to the Delft University of Technology as a guest researcher on Adaptive Urban Transformation Project under Prof. Steffen’s supervision. Also, he followed courses of European Post-master in Urbanism (EMU) at TUD. The overall aim of his research is to develop an integrative and multi-scale design and planning approach for adaptive urban transformation in fast-urbanizing deltas, using the Pearl River Delta as a case study.

Guangyuan Xie is an excellent architectural photographer. He co-founded DUO photography studio with a friend in 2018. They have photographed for BIG, AECOM, UABB, Archdaily and other famous architectural companies and media in the past two years. He believes that photography and travel can make him understand the city in a unique way.
